C.R. England and England Logistics have been long-term partners with Utah Food Bank, and we can always count on them to help us expand volunteer efforts for our programs, deliver senior food boxes or even donate the use of their fleet of trucks and trailers to pick up large donations and store excess food.
However, at a recent meeting and check presentation event, company President Josh England announced a new initiative to take their commitment to fighting childhood hunger to the next level through their “One Initiative” program. Through this effort, C.R. England and England Logistics are committing to provide enough funding to provide 1 million meals annually to children facing hunger in areas serviced by 18 food banks nationwide.
The “One Initiative” will support food banks close to their facilities across the country, including Utah Food Bank, with a corporate donation triggered each time one of their drivers delivers a truck load. At the time of delivery, each driver will designate which of the 18 food banks nationwide they’d like C.R. England or England Logistics to direct a donation to. Given that they are one of the nationwide leaders in refrigerated truckload service, they anticipate an incredible impact with thousands of dollars being donated annually to local food banks.
Not only are they launching this remarkable initiative, but at the same meeting they presented Utah Food Bank with a donation of close to $79,000. This donation came as a result of non-driver and driver fundraising activities held at the Salt Lake City offices of C.R England and England Logistics, as well as additional funding from the England family.
We are humbled by the generosity of C.R. England, England Logistics and the England family and are looking forward to partnering in Fighting Hunger Statewide into the future!
